This is one of my favorite pictures of the whole weekend! Grandma Sargent grew her hair fairly long before she died, and she was very proud of it!! I loved the way that Bella was so fascinated with Grandma's beautiful grey hair, and how she would softly stroke it with such love. It reminds me of stories that John tells of his Grandma Colton who had really really long hair that was always up in a bun, but at night she would let it down and brush it. She would let the Grandkids brush it as well. That is a precious memory of John's and this one is a precious memory of mine!! I also loved how Hannah was enthralled with Grandma's hands, and how she realized that this truly was just a shell, and that her spirit is up in heaven.

This is John C.'s favorite picture! Can you guess who's behind the bulletin board? John J has a few second cousins and a niece that are real close to his age. John J is on the far left, and Bella is on the far right. I'm not sure who's in the middle! :)
We have all had condolences passed our way because of the loss of our dear mother, grandmother, and greatgrandmother - Edna C. Sargent. And we will truly miss her and the influence she has had throughout all of our lives. She truly was a great example to us of family, service in church, service in the community, and enduring to the end. But when someone asks if we are sad about her passing, we have to reply "no". We know that she is with Grandpa and his handlebar mustache, with all her sisters and brothers that she missed so much throughout her whole life due to living so far away from them, with her mother and father who have been gone for some time. We know that she is happy, especially when she looks down upon the amazing posterity that she has produced and influenced. So although we will miss her dearly, we know that she is happy, and therefore we rejoice.

Good pictures!! Bella STILL talks about "grandma with the gray hair" :). It was a lovely funeral, so glad we could all make it!
Orange tie would be Drew Joel Felker and the pink tie is Sterling....they are usually inseparable when they are together..
Funerals (though very sad) can sometimes be joyful times when all of us get together as family and friends. The pictures show a wonderful legacy left by Edna Sargent. Thanks for sharing such touching moments.
